Your donation to Neon Greene will help us build Black Map Mural, create new murals and creative projects. Our mission is to commission black artists to create murals across our city and beyond to create public representation and artist development. Together, we can make a difference.

Black Mural Map was created to ensure that murals created by Black artists and murals celebrating Black history, culture, and representationare seen, valued, and preserved. What began in 2020 as a way to safely explore Jacksonville's public art during the pandemic has grown into a platform that documents murals, celebrates the artists behind them, and connects communities with the stories reflected on the city's walls.
Jacksonville's neighborhoods are home to one of its largest public galleries, where murals transform everyday spaces into living canvases of culture, history, and creativity. The Black Mural Map project exists to make these works easier to discover, learn from, and experience while helping ensure they remain part of our collective cultural landscape.
The Black Mural Map project continues to grow alongside the changing landscape of public art. As new murals are created and others disappear over time, we are expanding our efforts to document, preserve, and celebrate these important cultural works.
Our next chapter includes building a more comprehensive digital archive, producing artist stories, recognizing significant murals as landmarks, and creating new ways to experience Jacksonville's Black public art. We're also expanding partnerships with artists and organizations throughout Florida and beyond to grow the map and amplify Black creative voices.
Black Mural Map is built through community participation. You can help by sharing murals in your neighborhood, connecting us with artists, supporting our programs, and introducing others to the map.
Every recommendation, photograph, and shared story helps preserve Jacksonville's public art history and ensures that Black artists receive the visibility and recognition they deserve.
Every mural tells a story and every visit helps keep that story alive.
If you discover a mural through Black Mural Map, snap a photo and tag @blackmuralmap using #blackmuralmap. Your photos help document these public artworks over time, celebrate the artists who created them, and inspire others to explore Jacksonville's vibrant cultural landscape.
